The use of genomics and genetics to predict disease, prognosis, and optimal treatments for individuals is a promising development in medicine, but it will require successful academic-industry collaborations. In this second program of the “Meeting the Challenge of Conflicts of Interest” series, Patrick Groody , divisional vice president for research and development at Abbott Molecular and Dr. Richard Schwab, the director of the Moores UCSD Cancer Center Biorepository, look at where these collaborations are working and how to overcome barriers to productive partnerships.
